Snow White
Long, long ago a queen gave birth to a baby girl. Sadly, after giving birth, the kind queen passed away. The baby was given the name Snow White. The king was heartbroken, but, he continued to rule as the wise and caring king he was.
Years passed, and Snow White grew up to become a lovely lady. She was polite, as well as beautiful. Snow White had skin as white as snow, lips as red as roses and hair as black as coal.
However, things changed when the king got married again. The new queen was beautiful too but there was something twisted about her...
Now, dear readers, the queen was in possession of a mirror and every day she would ask this mirror a simple question. And the answer would always meet her satisfaction until one day.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of all?"
Thus, the mirror replied, " You, my queen are fair it is true, but Snow White is far fairer than you,"
Hearing this, the queen's blood boiled. The queen devised a plan to get rid of Snow White. The queen, who was actually a wicked witch, smiled evilly and cackled.
" Soon, Snow White will lie in a grave, her blood on my hands...."
Saying this, the queen called upon her huntsman and ordered him to kill Snow White. But, the huntsman could not bear to do so. Instead, he brought the innocent princess into the woods and asked her to run far far away. Then, he killed a boar and gave its heart to the queen. Seeing this, she cried out in joy.
Meanwhile, Snow White had stumbled upon a cottage. To her surprise, it was the home of seven dwarfs. The group quickly became friends. Everyday, the innocent princess would take care of their home while the dwarfs went mining in a diamond cave.
A month later, the wicked queen summoned her mirror and asked the infamous question. To her shock, she saw the princess still healthy and alive dancing merrily among the flowers near the seven dwarfs cottage. She cursed and fumed.
The queen knew she had been tricked by the huntsman. Therefore, she knew she could trust no one and decided to kill the young princess herself.
The queen transformed into her true form- a witch and cast a spell on herself turning her into a frail old woman. She disguised as an apple seller and dipped an apple into a cauldron of poison. However, when she took it out the apple looked shiny and red. But in truth, it was the color of blood and once Snow White ate it, she fall down in a deep deep sleep that would last forever.
Upon the queen's arrival at the cottage, she started calling out, " Apples for sale! Apples for sale! Shiny, red apples!''
Snow who was out plucking flowers heard this and dashed to the old woman.
"How beautiful! Might I try one?" the princess asked.
" Of course, my darling, here have the most beautiful apple!" the queen said, happy that her plan was working.
Snow immediately took a deep bite into the apple and her eyes closed. Her body went limp and she fainted. The breath was taken out from her. Thus, the queen smiled. This time, it wasn't a real smile. It was a smile of pure evil. The queen fled and ran back to the castle to transform herself once more.
When the dwarfs returned, their hearts broke after seeing Snow White. They made a beautiful case for her to lie in. Everyday, they visited her and gazed upon her pretty face.
Not long after that, a prince came. When he saw the lovely princess, he begged the dwarfs to let him see the princess. They agreed. When trying to lift the case, Snow White rolled over and the piece of apple that stuck in her throat came out. She opened her eyes and smiled.
So did the dwarfs and the prince. The two got married and lived happily ever after. The dwarfs were invited to live in the palace. No one knew what happened to the witch but it is said that she died out of her jealousy which consumed her.
